Under the auspices of the EU-funded GreenSET project, we are excited to announce the development of MEDSSIM: the Mediterranean Sustainable Service Innovation Methodology. This emerging framework aims to empower local communities, businesses, and institutions to co-create services that are environmentally regenerative, socially inclusive, and economically viable—tailored specifically to the Mediterranean context.
The Mediterranean region stands at the crossroads of environmental urgency and cultural richness. MEDSSIM seeks to harness this unique potential by integrating systems thinking, circular economy principles, and participatory design into a practical methodology. It builds on both traditional Mediterranean wisdom and modern innovation approaches, supporting the GreenSET project’s mission to accelerate green, sustainable transformations across the region.
More than a toolkit, MEDSSIM is a collaborative process—a growing ecosystem of knowledge, experimentation, and shared vision. With contributions from researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and citizens across the EU and Mediterranean basin, we aim to ensure the methodology is rooted in real needs and scalable impact.
This is just the beginning. Join us as we shape MEDSSIM into a cornerstone of sustainable innovation—together reimagining the Mediterranean as a thriving, equitable, and resilient region for generations to come.
