GreenSET Marks the Completion of Its First Semester (May–September 2025)

The GreenSET Interreg Euro-MED project proudly celebrates the completion of its first semester, marking a dynamic start toward advancing circular transformation in the Mediterranean tourism sector.

During this initial phase, the consortium finalized the communication strategy, launched its official website and LinkedIn page, and released the first co-created publication, “Service Innovation in Tourism: A Critical but Overlooked Sustainability Driver”, jointly developed by the Nicosia Tourism Board and STEP RI. These milestones laid the groundwork for effective collaboration, visibility, and knowledge-sharing across the Euro-Mediterranean region.

Key progress was also made on Deliverable 1.1: MED Sustainable Service Innovation Methodology (MEDSSIM), introducing a practical framework to help SMEs embed circular principles in their business models. Meanwhile, under Activity A3.4, the consortium initiated a carbon footprint assessment, evaluating emissions from project operations and outlining offsetting strategies to align with EU sustainability goals.

Looking ahead, preparations are underway for the upcoming partner meeting in Nice (4–6 November 2025), where the consortium will review Phase 1 outcomes, refine methodologies, and plan for the next phase of implementation.

To commemorate this milestone and share highlights from our journey so far, we are delighted to present the 1st GreenSET Newsletter — check it out here: 1st GreenSET Newsletter
